Make Shared Reading a Place Where Every Child Can Participate, and Thrive

Hey! I'm Tara

I’m a speech-language pathologist who spent over 25 years running a communication-based classroom for young autistic children.

During that time, I watched the way we teach and support autistic students evolve—and I made it my mission to stay at the forefront of research and strategies. My top priority? Building positive, trusting relationships with my students.

In 2019, after losing my dad to leukemia, I needed something to pull me out of the darkness. That’s when I started creating resources for educators and parents—because I knew what it felt like to feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start.

Autism Little Learners was born from that season of grief, and it has grown into my passion: helping educators and parents reduce overwhelm, see progress, and celebrate small wins that build on each other.

Educators often start with a single adapted book...

And quickly realize how powerful, consistent, and predictable visuals can be. The Adapted Book Library is built for what comes next — supporting repeated reading, flexible routines, and a wide range of communication needs across the entire school year. It offers consistency from book to book, flexibility across settings, and support without pressure, so you can respond to learners in real time and build literacy moments that feel grounded and doable.

If this feels like a supportive next step for your classroom or program, joining now allows you to lock in the current rate as the library continues to grow.
